Smt. Daulat Kanwar Open Heart Surgery Scheme
The Smt. Daulat Kanwar Open Heart Surgery Scheme was inaugurated under the gracious presence of Thiru S.R. Vijay Kumar (MP, Chennai Central) with Guest of Honour Shri M. Pannalal Singhvi and Managing Trustee Shri Parasmal Chaudhari. Surgeries have been performed at Apollo Hospital (5 surgeries) and MMM Hospital (3 surgeries).
Cancer Ward – Government General Hospital
In 1997, the foundation stepped into the 30-bed Cancer Ward (currently 60 beds) of the Government General Hospital. Inpatients are provided imported and costly medicines free of cost. This scheme was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Health & Electricity Minister Thiru Arcot N. Veeraswamy.
Adyar Cancer Institute
A Leica Microscope along with accessories was imported from Switzerland on 11th January 1999. The then Hon’ble Education Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru K. Anbalagan presented this machine on behalf of the trust along with 100 injections of Hepatitis B vaccines to the institute.
Shantidevi Jawaharmal Chandan – Day Care & Diagnostic Centre
Inaugurated on 10th March 2012 by Chief Guest Thiru D. Jayakumar (Hon. Speaker, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly). The centre offers the following at subsidised rates:

Mega Camps
Several medical and health camps have been conducted at strategic locations across the city. Notable examples include:
- Camp for Railway Protection Force (Southern Division) in 2006 and Women’s Wing in 2007.
- 2008: Mega Polio Camp with Narayana Seva Sansthan, Udaipur – wheelchairs, tricycles, and calipers distributed.
- December 2010: Mega Multi-Specialty Camp at Kesarvadi Temple, Redhills to celebrate one lakh patients treated at Dayasadan.
- 2011: Major Master Health Checkup for general public with doctors from Apollo Hospital.
Periodical Camps
Eye Camp (Sri Badalchand Sugankavar Chordia)
Monthly eye camps conducted at SDJC Day Care & Diagnostic Centre. Patients are screened for cataract and vision and are operated upon or given spectacles as appropriate.

Health Camp
General health camps are conducted for members, school students and the general public. Screening covers General, Eye, ENT and Dental. Terapanth School Camp (2014): 2450 students screened at Sowcarpet school and 1400 at Pattalam school.
Cancer Camp
Cancer detection camps are held jointly with Gangaur Ladies Wing of RAJAT. A Cancer Detection Camp was organised on 22nd December 2014.
Blood Donation Camp
Blood donation camps are organised periodically. The September 2014 camp collected 47 units of blood with the theme ‘Step Forward to Donate Blood’.
Daya Sadan Medi-Bank Charitable Dispensary
The Dispensary was inaugurated on 1st July 2007. It represents a perfect blend of ‘Daya and Dawa (Medicine)’ and serves hundreds of patients every day.
Tsunami Relief Camp – Koovathur (December 2004)
When the Killer Tsunami struck Tamil Nadu in December 2004, a team of 40 members with relief materials worth Rs. 15 Lakhs was dispatched. In February 2005, a Multi-Mega Specialty Health Camp at Koovathur Village near Kalpakkam served around 12,000 people at a cost of Rs. 50 Lakhs. Around 150 doctors from Madras Medical College, Sri Ramachandra Medical Hospital and Sankara Nethralaya participated.
Earthquake Relief – Gujarat (2001)
Members with relief materials worth Rs. 30 Lakhs (food, medicines, utensils, clothes, and tents) were sent to villages affected by the earthquake in Gujarat on 26th January 2001.
Super Cyclone Relief Camp – Orissa (1999)
Members with materials (food, medicines, utensils, and tents) worth Rs. 1 Crore were dispatched to areas affected by the Super Cyclone of Orissa on 24th November 1999.
Government General Hospital – Geriatric Ward (1995)
The 64-bed Geriatric Ward of Govt. General Hospital, Chennai was adopted by Medi-Bank (vide G.O. No. 38570/H2/95-96 dated 04-03-1996). The foundation distributes free medicines and regularly maintains the ward through painting, cleaning, and by providing T.V., refrigerators, fans and other facilities.
Sri Badalchand Sugankawar Chordia Dispensary (1999)
Established on 1st January 1999, the dispensary is fully equipped with a Clinical Lab, X-Ray Machine, and subsidised medical services. A Mobile Dispensary was also launched to serve Chennai city slums.
RYA Cosmo School at Kharoi Village, Gujarat
R.Y.A. Cosmo Primary School was built at Kharoi Village – an earthquake-affected village in Gujarat – and handed over on 6th January 2001.
