Our Story
OUR STORY
RYA Cosmo, affiliated to the Rajasthan Youth Association, is one of the most respected social organisations in Chennai. RYA Cosmo Foundation Medi-Bank was launched on 5th March 1995 with the theme ‘Care the Uncared’.
The foundation distributes free medicines to needy patients in the Geriatric Ward and Cancer Ward of the Government General Hospital. It operates a full-fledged Medical Day Care Centre, Dialysis Centre, and Cost-to-Cost Pharmacy & Dispensary — offering affordable medical assistance to those who need it most.
RYA Cosmo is the only NGO to have adopted the Geriatric Ward in the Government General Hospital, Chennai — a distinction we hold with pride and responsibility.

Cancer Ward (30 beds, now 60) at Govt. General Hospital adopted
1999
Sri Badalchand Sugankawar Chordia Dispensary established (1 Jan); Leica Microscope + 100 Hepatitis B vaccines donated to Adyar Cancer Institute (11 Jan); Orissa Super Cyclone relief (₹1 Crore, 24 Nov)
2001
Gujarat Earthquake Relief (₹30 Lakh, 26 Jan); RYA Cosmo Primary School, Kharoi Village, Gujarat handed over (6 Jan)

Tsunami Relief, Koovathur — ₹15 Lakh relief dispatch, followed by a ₹50 Lakh Mega Health Camp serving ~12,000 people

A Legacy Rooted in Trust
From adopting hospital wards to responding to national disasters — the Gujarat earthquake, the Orissa super cyclone, the Indian Ocean tsunami, and the Chennai floods — RYA Cosmo Foundation has consistently shown up where it matters most, guided by one unchanging principle: healthcare should never be out of reach because of what someone cannot afford.
Donations to RYA Cosmo Foundation are exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
